Hydra the Body Weapon
Hydra (ハイドラ) is the third boss from Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master.
Details[]
The Hydra is a gigantic, grotesque skinless monster. The player first meets this monstrosity in the second area of the bio laboratory, where it remains in the background and utilizes a targeting reticule to track down the player. After getting through this area the actual boss fight begins, with the Hydra showing itself on the right side of the screen.
It mainly uses three attacks: dropping balls of flesh from above, firing a hard to avoid laser from its mouth and digging into the floor biomass before reappearing below the player. The player must hit the boss's eye to cause damage; whenever it gets hit it will counter by using its large hand to attack, forcing the player to jump over it in order to avoid the attack.
